Dr. John Reed
Dr. John Reed is a practicing Board Certified Anesthesiologist that has embraced modern wellness concepts to enrich his own life and that of others. Dr. John, as he is known, earned his undergraduate degrees in Microbiology, Immunology and Public Health at University of California, Berkeley in the early 1980’s and was involved at the forefront of research in human cellular biology and monoclonal antibody creation. While an undergraduate, he was a co-founder of two successful biotech companies. After college, Dr. John worked in the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion under Surgeon General C. Everett Koop in D.C. doing, among other things, health risk assessments of the products of biotechnology. From there Dr. John moved to the Research Institute of Scripps Clinic in La Jolla, where he worked on a WHO project developing a vaccine for Malaria.
Dr. John studied medicine at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) as a Regent’s Scholar, and completed his residency in Anesthesiology at UCSD as well. Dr. John now divides his time between the clinical practice of Anesthesia, as well as for the Loloma Foundation, providing free medical care to the indigenous peoples of the South Pacific, and Fresh Start Surgical Gifts, providing reconstructive surgery for persons in need.
